开题答辩是硕士研究生培养的重要环节，是提高硕士研究生培养质量的重要措施和保障。根据《华中科技大学硕士研究生培养工作规定》（校研【2025】5号），按照《人工智能与自动化学院硕士研究生培养环节（开题答辩、中期检查）实施细则》（院发〔2024〕04号，以下简称《实施细则》）相关要求，现将学院2025年春季开题答辩工作通知如下。
一、考核对象
符合下列条件的2024级硕士可以申请参加开题答辩：
1. 对照个人培养计划规定的课程学习及学分要求进行考查，已完成主要课程学习；
2. 在导师指导下，完成《研究生开题报告》、《精读文献清单》，经导师审核，同意该生参加开题答辩。
其他早于2024级的硕士如在之前没有完成此环节，但预计在2026年毕业的学生，本次也需要参与考核。
二、考核时间
即日起-6月30日 具体时间由各导师自行确定。三年制硕士生从开题答辩通过到申请学位论文答辩的时长不得少于12个月。开题答辩必须早于中期检查。
三、考核程序
硕士开题答辩由导师组织。具体程序参看《实施细则》相关说明。
四、补充说明
1. 硕士需要在研究生培养系统中"论文开题答辩"版块提交申请；同时还需要提交纸面版的《研究生开题报告》、《精读文献清单》给导师审核签字；
2. 答辩秘书在《硕士生开题答辩汇总表》上统计汇总本小组的考核成绩并签字，再具体指定本小组的某同学集中交全组材料。同时答辩秘书还需要在系统中完整填写答辩情况及审批流程；
3. 交材料要求：各考核小组请于7月1日-7月5日期间交以下材料至研究生科存档（南一楼中307）：全组《硕士生开题答辩汇总表》1份、每位硕士的两类报告各1份+《研究生科研能力评议表》5份。

Official Notice on the 2025 Spring Proposal Defense for Master's Students
The proposal defense is a crucial component of master's student training. In accordance with the Regulations on Master's Student Training at Huazhong University of Science and Technology(University Postgraduate Document [2025] No. 5) and the Implementation Rules for Master's Student Training Procedures (Proposal Defense and Intertim Assessment) issued by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation (School Document [2024] No. 04, hereinafter referred to as the Implementation Rules), the School hereby announces the arrangements for the 2025 Spring Proposal Defense as follows:
I. Eligibility
Master's students enrolled in 2024 who meet the following criteria may apply to participate in the proposal defense:
1.Completion of major coursework as stipulated in their individual training plans and fulfillment of credit requirements.
2.Submission of the Research Proposal and Key Literature Review List, reviewed and approved by their academic supervisors.
Note:Master's students enrolled prior to 2024 who have not yet completed this requirement but are expected to graduate in 2026 must also participate in this round of assessment.
II. Timeline
●Period:From now until June 30, 2025. Specific dates will be determined by individual supervisors.
●Duration Requirement: For two-year master's programs, the interval between passing the proposal defense and applying for the final thesis defense must beno less than 6 months.
●Sequence: The proposal defense must be completed beforethe Interim Assessment (For two-year master's programs, the Interim Assessment should be completed before the third semester ends).
III. Procedures
●The proposal defense will be organized by the student's supervisor. Detailed procedures are outlined in the Implementation Rules.
IV. Additional Instructions
1.Submission Requirements:
Students must submit an online application via the "Thesis Proposal Defense" section of the postgraduate training system.
Hard copies of the Research Proposal and Key Literature Review List, signed by the supervisor, must also be submitted.
2.Responsibilities of Defense Secretaries:
Compile and sign the Master's Proposal Defense Summary Formfor their group.
Designate one student to submit all group materials collectively.
Complete the online records of the defense outcomes and approval process.
3.Material Submission Deadline:
All assessment groups must submit the following materials to the Graduate Office (Room 307, South Building 1) between July 1 and July 5, 2025:
■One Master's Proposal Defense Summary Form per group.
■One copy of each report (Research Proposal and Key Literature Review List) per student, plus five copies of the Postgraduate Research Capability Evaluation Form.
